Apple products are by far the most popular, and, in my opinion, by far the most useful when it comes to style and fast access to information, especially the iPad which fascinates with its big screen and fast load times.
However, one of the biggest disadvantages is that there is no flash player for the ipad, and nowadays this is a crucial feature that is a must have for many people. Everybody wants a flash player on iPad 1, or iPad 2, and as there is no native support, they need to turn to non-Apple flash players for the iPad.
There are several ways to get flash on iPad, some of them are separate browsers and some of them are Cydia apps, but they all do the job ( more or less ) and bring some sort of flash player for the iPad. I’m going to write a short review below, in order to help you pick out the solution that best suits your needs.
Skyfire Browser
One of the most popular flash player for the ipad is Skyfire, which is also a popular desktop browser, and it is the tool of choice of many ipad owners. Skyfire allows ipad owners to view flash content that is embedded on websites, but doesn’t allow the viewing of flash based websites or games. So basically you can view embedded videos and banners and adds but you can’t play a flash based game like goalunited. If you only need your ipad for browsing I think that Skyfire is the best flash player for the iPad that you can pick.
iSwifter Browser
Another great tool that really brings flash for the iPad is iSwifter, which is also a browser but it is based on a different principle than Skyfire. Basically this is not a flash player for the iPad, it only streams the flash content from their servers as video content, which can be easily handled by the iPad software. iSwifter allows you to play flash based games too, so it’s a more complete flash player for the ipad solution. If you like playing flash based games than this should be your tool of choice.
Frash Flash Player
Frash Flash Player is a different flash player for the iPad as it is not a browser. Frash is a Cydia tweak that runs a process in the background that allows you to view flash content with the native Safari browser. In order to install Frash Flash Player you need to jailbreak your iPad and install Cydia. You can find a full set of instructions on http://iHowTo.com.
These are the 3 major flash players for the ipad and they all do the job that they were meant to, which is to get flash on iPad. If you know better flash players for the iPad or you’d like to share your experience with one of the above feel free to post a comment below.
